Tottenham Hotspur were beaten yesterday, but Jamie Redknapp saw some positive signs.

Spurs were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool, but their commitment could not be faulted.
Tottenham defended resiliently at Anfield, with the bulk of their players coming out of the game with some credit.
And Redknapp claims that he was happy to see his former side at least putting in the effort required to turn their season around.
“I’ve watched a lot of Tottenham this season and, though they lost 2-1, what I enjoyed about their performance at Anfield was the effort they put in,” he said.
“Too many times this season they have looked like a team waving a white flag. Under Mauricio Pochettino they have travelled away 27 times to face a fellow Big Six side – and secured only three wins.
“But against the league leaders on Sunday, they at least showed a bit of grit. I’m not saying this was them turning a corner, but we finally saw some of their players having a go.”

The commitment of Tottenham’s squad was heavily questioned after their 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break.
Tottenham have improved after, but results still haven’t exactly been positive.
Although Spurs did win in the Champions League against Red Star Belgrade, they have failed to beat Watford and now lost to Liverpool.
Tottenham are currently sat in 11th place in the Premier League table, after collecting just 12 points from their first 10 matches.
