Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain produced his best Liverpool performance yet in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is beginning to fulfil his potential working under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

The 24-year-old midfielder produced the best performance of his young Reds career in Sunday’s 4-0 thrashing of Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

Ex-Liverpool midfielder Redknapp feels that the signing from Arsenal is learning fast at Anfield and is “becoming a real player” in the centre of the park.

“There are vast improvements in his game,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

Jurgen Klopp, Manager of Liverpool speaks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain of Liverpool before he comes on during the Premier League match between Liverpool and Burnley at Anfield on September...

“When he went to Arsenal, for years I felt he stood still. He picked up a lot of injuries, and I know what that is like, it can be demoralising, but even when he got fit, he didn’t have that sharpness.

“What I am seeing here is that he is becoming a real player under Jurgen Klopp. He seems to be learning to play in that position he is in.

“The problem he is going to have now is that Adam Lallana is back to full fitness now. There is a lot of competition in that midfield, but if he carries on playing like that, then he is going to be hard to dislodge.”

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s slow start at Liverpool could be attributed to the constant shifting of positions which stunted his progress in six years at the Emirates.

However, recent performances in Klopp’s midfield three suggest that the England international has finally nailed down a role which he can make his own.

Klopp has rotated heavily throughout the past month, but would be wise to give Oxlade-Chamberlain a long run in the team to continue his recent growth.

Liverpool travel to Oxlade-Chamberlain’s former club Arsenal on Friday, with Emre Can and Sadio Mane pushing to take his place in the starting lineup.
