The West Ham star scored another free kick in the EFL Cup win over Accrington Stanley this week.
West Ham United’s Dimitri Payet scores their first goal from a freekick
Writing in the Daily Mail, Jamie Redknapp has likened Dimitri Payet’s free kick taking ability to that of David Beckham’s.
The Hammers star once again produced the goods from a set-piece this week as he scored a last minute free kick to secure a 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley in the EFL Cup.
It continued his fine run of form with free kicks, having established himself as one of the best set piece takers in Europe with his efforts last season.

It is the Frenchman’s technique that has most caught the attention and Redknapp has likened it to the one David Beckham employed in his prime.
“When West Ham are awarded a free-kick, you can feel the anticipation around the ground as Dimitri Payet walks over to the ball,” he told the Daily Mail.
“Payet’s technique is a throwback to the way David Beckham would take them, generating curl and whip with the instep. It’s remarkable how consistent he is, too.”

West Ham will now be hoping that Payet has more moments of magic like this one in his locker this season.
They are struggling at this moment in time and given their poor defensive record, they have conceded 13 goals in the league so far, they may need all the goals they can get.
So far he has produced the good and they will be keen to see him continue to do the same across the campaign.
