If Liverpool beat Manchester City on Sunday, Mohamed Salah will probably have a say.

The 29-year-old attacker has been sensational for Liverpool so far this season.

Across all competitions, the former Chelsea and Roma star has netted eight goals in as many games, as well as set up two more.

And with Jurgen Klopp’s side hosting Manchester City on Sunday, the German coach is going to need Salah at his very best once again.

Guardiola is going to pay special attention to trying to combat the Egypt international and Jamie Redknapp has said this is the best that he has ever seen Salah play, calling him ‘phenomenal’.

He told Sky Sports: “Salah in top form and can be Liverpool’s star again on Sunday. I’ve seen a lot of Mohamed Salah, I’ve watched him closely, and he’s playing as well as I’ve ever seen him. Salah’s all-round game right now is phenomenal. His work rate, his desire, his goals, his assists… I haven’t seen him in better form.

“He’s in the form of his life. He’s confident, strong and he’s got the bit between his teeth.”

How many goals has Salah scored against Man City?

According to Transfermarkt, Salah, a £34 million signing by Klopp back in the summer of 2017, has netted six goals in 12 games against the Citizens during his career.

The good news is that four of those six have come at Anfield and with Liverpool being the home side this weekend, the omens are pretty good.

Given his form – both current and previous success – it’s very likely that the jet-heeled marksman will cause major problems for City.

Whether it’s enough for Liverpool to win the game remains to be seen, however.

Remember, this is a Manchester City side that beat Chelsea last weekend and anyone who can beat them, the Champions League winners, are a force for any side.
