Dark clouds have been lingering around West Ham United all season but Jamie Redknapp has some positives for his dad’s old club.

Survival does not mask what has been another torrid season for West Ham on and off the pitch and supporters want big changes from unpopular co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold if not a change of ownership altogether.
The Hammers have been in disarray this season and supporters are furious over what they feel are a string of broken promises regarding ambition, transfer spending and the much-heralded move to the London Stadium.
But the vast majority of supporters are feeling disillusioned with the club and do not accept staying up as an achievement.
Doom and gloom has never been too far around the corner for West Ham this season or last.

However, Speaking on Sky Sports, pundit Jamie Redknapp – son of ex West Ham player and manager Harry – had some encouraging words for fans.
“I think there’s been some successes (this season),” Redknapp told Sky Sports.
“I think what (David Moyes) has done with Marko Arnautovic this year (has been great), I enjoyed his performances.
“I think Declan Rice at 19 years of age is a fantastic young talent and the sort of player that could be the Mark Noble of the future for this club if they look after him.

“You know at 19 years of age to be playing in that position and playing with such assurance for a young man I’ve been impressed with him.”
So there you have it Hammers fans, maybe there is some light breaking through the clouds.
Now the club must go and add to the likes of Arnautovic and Rice with astute additions to move the team on next season.
