West Ham United beat Newcastle United 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he thought West Ham United’s Felipe Anderson was a ‘flying machine’ in the 3-0 win over Newcastle United.
The Hammers lost 4-0 to Manchester City in their previous game, and got the exact response they needed in the 3-0 thrashing of the Magpies.
Javier Hernandez scored a goal in each half to put West Ham 2-0 up, before Anderson raced clear to add a third and seal all three points for the Hammers.
Hernandez grabbed headlines with his brace, but Anderson impressed again as the Brazilian’s influence grows and grows following his big-money summer move from Lazio.
Anderson, 25, has now hit four goals in his last four games, and is starting to show why boss Manuel Pellegrini was so desperate to lure him to East London over the summer.
Now, pundit Redknapp has branded Anderson a ‘wing wizard’ whilst claiming that he was a ‘flying machine’ for West Ham against Newcastle, adding that Magpies defenders couldn’t handle him – and Cardiff must now attempt to contain him on Tuesday night.
“Saturday was a day for the wing wizards,” said Redknapp. “Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane were devastating as they propelled Manchester City to victory over Bournemouth while Felipe Anderson was a flying machine for West Ham. Newcastle could not handle him,” he added.
