Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier has had a superb World Cup so far.

Writing in The Daily Mail, Jamie Redknapp has paid tribute to Tottenham Hotspur’s Kieran Trippier for his World Cup campaign so far.
The Spurs right-back has played a big role in helping England reach the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 1990.
Trippier, a £3.5 million signing by Tottenham in 2015 [The Telegraph], has started and finished four of the Three Lions’ five games in the tournament thus far.
The former Burnley star has also earned praise for the quality of his crossing throughout, and Redknapp has lavished praise on the 27-year-old.
“This position is made for him. Everything about his performances has been excellent,” he told The Daily Mail.
“He ghosts up and down the line, his deliveries have been of the highest quality and I cannot remember a time when he has been beaten in a one-on-one.
“I like how he does not mess around when he gets into a good position. Harry Kane wants the ball in quickly and that is what Trippier will do.”

Trippier has indeed been brilliant, but he has always been much better going forward than he has been defensively.
He is prone to a lapse of concentration, hence why he and Serge Aurier alternated between Mauricio Pochettino’s preferred right-back option for the whole 2017-18 campaign more or less.
But these past few weeks have been a huge reminder over Trippier’s talents and fans of the North London club will be hoping that he returns in this form come August.
