Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that West Ham United need to make their stadium feel like home over the remainder of the season.

West Ham have had difficulties bedding into their new ground this term, after moving to the London Stadium.

The Hammers’ have picked up just 21 points from 16 matches in front of their own fans this season, leaving them with one of the worst home records in the Premier League.

West Ham’s failure to win regularly at the London Stadium, has been a source of major disappointment.

Slaven Bilic’s men had relegation worries right up until this weekend, when they beat Swansea City 1-0.

And Redknapp feels that now West Ham’s Premier League status is relatively secure, they need to play more expansively at their home ground.

“Now the pressure has been eased, what West Ham must do between now and the end of the season is make the London Stadium feel like home,” Redknapp said.

“It is difficult to play expressive football when you are struggling for confidence. With Everton, Tottenham and Liverpool still to play at home, West Ham should use these big games to excite their supporters.”

West Ham’s latest victory over Swansea was vital for their survival chances.

Bilic’s men may not have been at their free flowing best, but they ground out a narrow victory to ease their relegation fears and move up to 14th place in the Premier League table.
