The England striker is set to return from injury this weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur take on Arsenal in the North London derby this weekend hoping to improve on their recent run of poor form.

One boost they have received this week is the return to full training for striker Harry Kane. The England international has been out since September following ankle ligament damage suffered against Sunderland.

His return to action is undoubtedly a big boost for the side and former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp has explained why.

He believes that whilst Kane is a risk his presence will see Spurs score more of the poacher’s goals they have been missing in recent weeks. Redknapp told Sky Sports News HQ today (04/11/16):

“It’s a risk though because you’ve got such a good player there in Harry Kane, that if he picks up a secondary injury to that ankle you risk losing him.

“When he first went out the team they looked good. Everything was fine, they were scoring goals and Son was coming in bending them from 25 yards. But those dry up.

“What they miss is those tap-ins those goals that Harry Kane scored so many of last year.”

There is no doubt that Kane’s knack for finding the back of the net has been missing for Tottenham in recent weeks. The goals have dried up for Son and Vincent Janssen is struggling to adapt to life in the Premier League.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Kane could start this weekend, something Redknapp sees as a risk.

But with Tottenham getting anxious in their wait for a win and Kane’s excellent record v Arsenal it will be hard for Spurs not to throw him into the action from the start.
