Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he thinks the Premier League title race is back on after Tottenham’s 2-0 win at Burnley.

Despite having no Harry Kane, no Danny Rose and no Kyle Walker, Spurs picked up a 2-0 win away at Burnley on Saturday afternoon, with Eric Dier and Son Heung-min finding the net.

The win was particularly important for Tottenham because back in London, Chelsea lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace in a shock result to open up the title race again.

Chelsea still lead by seven points at the top of the Premier League table, but Saturday’s result have given Tottenham renewed hope that they can chase down their London rivals.

With Kane, Walker and Rose all to come back, Tottenham are gearing up for a late push for the title, which starts against Swansea City on Wednesday, when Chelsea will be hosting Manchester City.

Ahead of those games, pundit and former Spurs midfielder Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he thinks the title race is back on, suggesting that doubts will be creeping in at Chelsea.

Redknapp added that Tottenham are aggressive and have leaders, with Toby Alderweireld, Victor Wanyama and Dele Alli all leaders in Redknapp’s eyes.

Redknapp continued, stating that manager Pochettino has turned Tottenham into a team who can win the league – a far cry from the previous perception that Spurs are little more than a stepping stone to better things.

“The title race is back on — especially if Chelsea lose to Manchester City on Wednesday,” said Redknapp. “Doubts are bound to creep in after the defeat by Crystal Palace. This is Antonio Conte’s biggest test since switching to a back three. Tottenham will be the side Conte fears most. Gone are the days of ‘tippy tappy Tottenham’. This is a team packed with aggressive, young players who will have learned from their collapse at the end of the last campaign. You look at the likes of Toby Alderweireld, Victor Wanyama and Dele Alli and see leaders all over the pitch.”

“Burnley had the Premier League’s sixth-best home record before Saturday’s game. To go to Turf Moor and win 2-0 is no mean feat without Harry Kane and wing backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker. When I was playing, people used to see Tottenham as a stepping stone. Under Mauricio Pochettino, they believe they can win the league. Chelsea must focus on the fact that they can put the title to bed with victory over Pep Guardiola’s side. If they don’t, Tottenham are ready to pounce,” he added.
