The Tottenham Hotspur defender lasted just three minutes after coming on at half-time.

Jamie Redknapp was a guest on Sky Sports’ broadcast of Bournemouth’s win over Tottenham today (May 4th, 14:45), and delivered his verdict on Juan Foyth’s red card.
The Argentine was brought on at half-time by Mauricio Pochettino in an effort to help tighten things up at the back, but he was sent-off just three minutes later after a reckless lunge on Cherries defender Jack Simpson.
Tottenham brought Foyth to the club in the summer of 2017 for around £8 million, but he has so far failed to impress in north London, and today’s antics will further damage his reputation.
Redknapp suggested that the 21-year-old was little unlucky, however, despite fully deserving his red card, when speaking during Sky Sports’ broadcast of Bournemouth’s win over Tottenham today:

“It’s reckless and out of control. He never once when he had the ball had it under control. In his defence though, he’s looking down, he’s not looking at his leg. It’s one of those where the ball is rolling away and you slide in in desperation. It’s definitely a red card though, it looked like a really bad tackle.”
Foyth has a long way to go, if he is to become a success at Tottenham, but he is still young, and maybe next summer will be a fairer time to judge the Argentine.
He certainly hasn’t helped his chances of featuring for Spurs on Wednesday night in the Champions League, however.
