The Hammers are not scoring enough goals this season.
West Ham United take on Stoke City in the Premier League this afternoon, hoping to get back on track after slipping up to Everton at Goodison Park last weekend.
The Hammers have struggled to live up to their excellent performances from last season and one reason for this has been their struggles in attack.
West Ham’s Andy Carroll reacts
West Ham’s strikers have not been in the best of form recently and with the likes of Andre Ayew, Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho all suffering injury problems the problem has been exacerbated by player absences.
New signings Simone Zaza and Jonathan Calleri have struggled to settle and West Ham have recently been playing Michail Antonio through the middle.
Michail Antonio scores the second goal for West Ham
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has been speaking to Sky Sports News HQ about the club’s struggles up front. The former Spurs midfielder, whose father Harry is a former West Ham manager, had this to say about their problems yesterday (04/11/16):
“They’re desperate for a front-man.
“Zaza has not worked out. He’s played Antonio up front the last couple of games. He gives them energy and he runs around but that little bit of quality that you need?

“They’re really missing Andy Carroll and they need to get him back as soon as possible.”
West Ham are undoubtedly missing a main striker and Zaza has been something of a flop since his arrival.
Carroll appears to be on the mend and West Ham fans will be looking forward to his return to action after his recent injury trouble.
West Ham fans will be hoping they have the firepower to overcome Stoke this weekend but going forward they need more from their strikers if they are to rise up the table.
