Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur will not win the Champions League this season.

The former Tottenham midfielder made the prediction following Spurs’ match against Real Madrid away from home at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday evening.

Spurs played out a 1-1 draw with the defending European champions in the Champions League game at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The performance of Mauricio Pochettino’s side was very encouraging, and the result has enhanced the Premier League club’s chances of progressing to the knockout stages of Europe’s premier club competition.

Former Tottenham midfielder Redknapp, though, does not think that Spurs will win the Champions League this season.

The former Liverpool star has said that Tottenham can win the Premier League title in 2017-18, and Arsenal legend Ian Wright is of the same opinion.

“No, I don’t think they will,” Redknapp told Sky Sports when asked if they can win the Champions League. “They can win the Premier League, though. They can. I think so.”

“I am not arguing with that,” said former Arsenal striker Wright.

Winning the Champions League is going to be hard for Tottenham, as there are a number of teams much better than them.

However, Spurs can certainly clinch the Premier League title this term, given how they have progressed over the past three or so seasons.
