Tottenham Hotspur picked up a 2-2 draw against Arsenal yesterday, but Danny Rose wasn’t at his best.

Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports, during their live Super Sunday coverage, that he thought Danny Rose ‘got the fear’ during Tottenham Hotspur’s match against Arsenal.

Rose was partly at fault for the first goal which Tottenham conceded, as they drew 2-2 with Arsenal.

The Tottenham left-back struggled to clear after Hugo Lloris saved a free-kick and the ball seemed to rebound off his hand inside his own box.

Although the referee didn’t give a penalty, Rose seemed to panic in the moment, and sliced his clearance after pausing entirely when the ball hit him.

And Redknapp thought that Rose got scared in that moment.

He said: “It almost feels like Danny Rose got the fear. He wasn’t sure if he handballed it. It wasn’t a time to take too many touches.”

Even after Rose’s error, Tottenham still had time to clear the ball, but Davinson Sanchez failed to get it fully away and Arsenal eventually scored through Alexandre Lacazette.

That goal meant that Arsenal went into the break only 2-1 down, and it provided them momentum to build on for the second half.

In the end Arsenal eventually hit back, with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang neatly finishing beyond Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to ensure his side claimed a point.

Rose’s mistake means that his poor start to the season has continued, and it would not be a major surprise if Mauricio Pochettino turned to Ben Davies after the international break.
