Mooy moved to Huddersfield Town on a permanent deal from Manchester City earlier this year.

Jamie Redknapp has given one Huddersfield Town player an unexpected name-check while running through his Premier League team of the season so far. Aaron Mooy has excelled since first setting foot in the John Smith’s Stadium on loan from Manchester City 18 months ago, helping Huddersfield to promotion in his first season and 11th in the Premier League this.
Now a permanent Terriers player, the Australian has scored four goals and made another in the top flight and was on target during his side’s win over Manchester United in October.

According to Redknapp, the former England midfielder turned Sky Sports pundit, Mooy would not look out of place at a club of the Red Devils stature.
“Do you know who deserves a mention? Aaron Mooy at Huddersfield,” said Redknapp, who had already named a trio of the 27-year-old’s former Manchester City teammates, David Silva, Kevin de Bruyne and Fernandinho, in his 11’s midfield.
“He’s my type of player. A really good footballer – keeps it moving. He’s playing in a team that’s obviously struggled at times, and big games, he’s affected them.
“I really like him in midfield. He could play for one of the top [clubs]. Obviously he was at Manchester City.”

Mooy is under contract for another two-and-a-half years at Huddersfield, who are the first team he has played for in one of Europe’s top leagues.
Before his move to Manchester City last summer, the 29-cap Socceroos star had spells at Bolton Wanderers, St Mirren, Western City and Melbourne City.
