Jamie Redknapp is disappointed with Everton.

Jamie Redknapp has told The Daily Mail that he is puzzled as to why Everton spent so much on Gylfi Sigurdsson when they still hadn’t replaced hitman Romelu Lukaku on Merseyside.
Everton splashed close to £200 million on transfers during the summer and the former Swansea City playmaker makes up nearly a quarter of that figure.
The Toffees only managed to sign a handful of centre-forward options after losing Lukaku to Manchester United – a 31-year-old Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez who had never kicked a ball in England, and Henry Onyekuru who was loaned to Anderlecht immediately.

The man behind the spending is thought to be Director of Football Steve Walsh, and ex-Liverpool midfielder Redknapp believes there has been a ‘betrayal’ of Everton’s traditions by failing to recruit a top-class marksman.
“I cannot understand why, with £45m available, they bought another No 10 in Gylfi Sigurdsson rather than a centre forward,” he told The Daily Mail.
“Whoever is responsible for Everton’s recruitment has betrayed the traditions of the club by failing to buy a striker.”

Everton tried and failed to sign the likes of Olivier Giroud and Christian Benteke, while they also had a club-record bid for Diego Costa turned down late on.
Pressure is mounting on manager Ronald Koeman following Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat by Burnley.
The Goodison Park club are 16th in the Premier League, two points above the relegation zone, despite their summer spending.
