Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Dele Alli is now worth more than Manchester United star Paul Pogba – sharing the view of his father Harry.

Tottenham made it 11 home wins in a row with a thumping 4-0 victory over Watford on Saturday afternoon, with Son Heung-min bagging a brace in a superb game for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.

Whilst Son grabbed the headlines with his two goals, star midfielder Dele Alli also got his name on the scoresheet with an outstanding opening goal, cutting in from the left hand side before bending a right-footed strike past Heurelho Gomes and into the net.

Alli, 20, took his Premier League tally for the season to 16 goals, an with five assists to his name as well, he has also recorded a remarkable statistic.

With involvement in 40 goals in the Premier League – 26 of his own and 14 in assists – Alli has contributed the same amount of goals before the age of 21 as Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and David Beckham combined.

Now one of the Premier League’ top stars, Alli is making a mockery of the £5million Tottenham paid to MK Dons to sign the playmaker (BBC) in January 2015 – and Jamie Redknapp has suggested that Alli may now be worth around £100million.

Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Alli has eclipsed Paul Pogba and his £89million fee, and having claimed that he is ‘becoming the perfect player’, he predicted that Alli can become the best attacking midfielder in Premier League history.

“If you asked at the start of the season whether Paul Pogba or Dele Alli would be worth more come May, the Frenchman would have won every time,” said Redknapp. “After a sensational campaign, Alli has eclipsed Pogba. If the United midfielder cost a world-record £89million, then what does that make Alli worth? He is becoming the perfect player.”

“Alli is thriving in the free role given to him by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. Last season he scored all but one of his goals with his right foot, now he is showing his full range of attributes. I love his footballing arrogance. Alli knows how good he is and, if he does not leave England he has the ability to become the best attacking midfielder in Premier League history,” he added.

Redknapp’s view is the same as that of his father Harry, who told The Telegraph in February that he thinks Alli is also worth more than Pogba, meaning that if Spurs ever cash in, they could be looking at a world-record fee for their star midfield.
