Jamie Redknapp has predicted Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to win the Golden Boot this season, as quoted in The Daily Mail.

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder has been impressed with Aubameyang and has described him as “a goal machine”.

Redknapp, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has suggested that the Gabon international will also try to impress other clubs, as his current contract at the Gunners runs out in the summer of 2021.

Redknapp told The Daily Mail when asked who will be the top scorer in the Premier League this season: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“With his contract at Arsenal expiring in 2021, maybe he will want to impress those other clubs looking at him! But really, he will score because he is a goal machine.”

Golden Boot winner?

Aubameyang has scored 17 goals in the Premier League so far this season, just two fewer than Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy and one more than Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sergio Aguero of Manchester City.

The former Borussia Dortmund star is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League and has been arguably the best player for the Gunners since the start of last season.

The 30-year-old striker scores goals no matter what, and even if Mikel Arteta’s side fail to finish in the Champions League places, there is a very good chance that Aubameyang will score goals at regular intervals and win the Golden Boot this season.
