Jamie Paterson has joined Bristol City from Nottingham Forest.

Jamie Paterson has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a message to Nottingham Forest fans following his departure.

Paterson, who is a very versatile player, has left Forest to join Championship rivals Bristol City on a three-year contract.

The 24-year-old can play on either wing, centrally and in behind the strikers, and is expected to be a key player for City in the Championship this season.

The Englishman had been on the books of Forest for the past three seasons.

Paterson scored 14 goals in 69 appearances for the Reds during his time at the City Ground, as stated on City’s official website.

The versatile footballer started his professional club football career at Walsall, scoring 16 goals in 102 matches, as stated on City’s official website.

The attacker spent the 2015-16 campaign on loan at Championship outfit Huddersfield Town.

The 24-year-old scored six goals and created 50 chances in 34 league matches for Huddersfield last season.
