Jamie O’Hara suggested on The Transfer Tavern show on talkSPORT (5:26pm, June 8, 2019) that departing Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur.

Sturridge is leaving Liverpool this summer when his contract runs out, and former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara believes that the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker will be a good signing for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

O’Hara said about Sturridge on The Transfer Tavern show on talkSPORT (5:26pm, June 8, 2019): “Daniel Sturridge is on a free. He could fit in across the front three which Spurs play, or a two, Sturridge and Harry Kane up front, if you are playing a diamond with two upfront. If you can get him fit, he’s a great signing surely on a free contract.”

Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy likes a bargain signing, and given that Sturridge will be a free agent, the striker should probably a player on the North London club’s radar.

The problem with Sturridge in recent years has been his injuries, and that will be a concern for any club who will want to sign him.

However, a one-year contract to the England international will not be a bad idea for Tottenham.

True, Sturridge will have to fight very hard to play regularly in Pochettino’s starting lineup, but the chance to challenge for top honours could be tempting for him.
