Tottenham Hotspur are one game away from lifting the Champions League trophy.

TalkSport pundit Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Tottenham need to spend £100 million in the transfer market as they should go out and buy a striker and a central midfielder.

Mauricio Pochettino has a big summer ahead of him because if Spurs are to take that next step then need significant investment in their overachieving thin squad.

Despite not adding any new players to the team during these past two transfer windows, Pochettino has guided the club to a top-four finish in the Premier League and the Champions League final.

Speaking on The Final Word on TalkSport (19/05/2019 at 6:10 pm), O’Hara shared what his former club need to do when they start thinking about transfers.

“They need to spend,” O’Hara told TalkSport. “They need to keep Pochettino. Spurs need to spend £100 million on new players. They need another centre-forward. But the difficulty you have is that you know you are playing second fiddle to Harry Kane.

“Llorente is not good enough. He’s done well and scored important goals, but he’s not good enough for Tottenham. He’s nowhere near what I think Tottenham need if they want to stay and keep progressing as a football club.

“I think they need to bu another central midfield player. If they just had a World Class central midfielder. Like a leader, a Steven Gerrard or Roy Keane. Someone who is going to pick that club up and take them to another level.”

Tottenham will be playing Champions League football next season which helps in their quest to sign some of Europe’s best talents.

But if they can win the European Cup on June 1 then it’ll further increase their chances of signing the best players because it’ll take the club to another level.

The only question that could be on the lips of the White Hart Lane faithful is, does the club have the spending power to compete in what is a hostile and demanding transfer market?
