Jamie O’Hara has strongly criticised Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Fabio Silva on Twitter for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur today.
The former Tottenham and Wolves midfielder believes that Silva has been “absolutely shocking” whenever he has seen him play this season.
O’Hara made the comments about the striker while watching him in action for Wolves in their 2-0 defeat to Tottenham away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League today.
Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was also not impressed by the performance of Silva, who really did not have a good game against Spurs.
However, it is bit harsh of O’Hara. After all, Silva is just 18 years of age and joined Wolves only last summer.
True, Wolves paid £35.6 million to FC Porto for the teenager last summer, as reported by BBC Sport, but it is not the striker’s fault.
The Portuguese youngster has been thrust into regular first-team football this season because of the head injury to Raul Jimenez.
Silva is only 18, and the Portugal Under-19 international will become better in the coming years.
Against Spurs today, the teenager took seven shots and only one was on target and took 28 touches, according to WhoScored.
The youngster has made nine starts and 21 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Wanderers this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
