Jamie O’Hara has said on talkSPORT that Arsenal are a bigger club than Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Tottenham midfielder has said that Arsenal are the biggest club in London.
O’Hara made the comments on talkSPORT this morning while discussing with fellow pundit and former Manchester City winger Trevor Sinclair which club are the biggest in London.
The Englishman said on talkSPORT: “I am a Spurs fan, but you can’t get away from the fact that Arsenal are the biggest club in London.
“If you are going on history, if you are going on real success of the football club, and fan base and everything that comes with a football club, I am sorry, but Chelsea are the most successful club right now in London, we know that.”
Now, this is a very tricky subject.
You can safely say that Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea fans will not agree at all on this.
Tottenham have arguably the best stadium in London – probably even in England – and have a huge fanbase, but Spurs have not won any major silverware for a while.
Arsenal have won the FA Cup in recent seasons, but the North London club last clinched the Premier League title back in 2004.
Chelsea have consistently won titles over the past 15 or so years, not just in England but in Europe as well.
The Blues won the Champions League in 2012 and then again this season, and they have a global fanbase, just like Arsenal and Spurs.
You could argue about who are the biggest club in London – or anywhere else for the matter – as much as you like, but in football, the key thing is being successful on a consistent basis.
Just look at the two Manchester clubs.
Manchester United are arguably the biggest club in England, but is Manchester City who have been more successful in recent years.
