TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has said that he is really pleased that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is still at Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Spurs player has said on talkSPORT (6:12pm, September 2, 2023) that he is “glad” that Tottenham Hotspur did not sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the summer transfer window.

O’Hara has said that the 28-year-old Denmark international midfielder is an asset for Spurs.

According to The London Evening Standard, Fulham and Atletico Madrid wanted to sign Hojbjerg from Tottenham on the final day of the summer transfer window.

While the 28-year-old Denmark international midfielder did not want to move to Fulham, Atletico and Spurs could not agree on a deal over the £100,000-a-week (SalarySport) star.

O’Hara said about Hojbjerg: “We didn’t sell Hojbjerg. I am really glad we didn’t sell Hojbjerg because I actually think he is still an asset.”

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou does not seem to think that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is good enough to play week in and week out for the first team.

The 28-year-old has made three substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played once in the Carabao Cup for Spurs this campaign.

It would be tough for the Dane to get into the Spurs first team in the coming weeks and months.

Of course, injuries to other midfielders could force Postecoglou into playing Hojbjerg, but we have to wait and watch on that front.

Hojbjerg has made 221 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The midfielder has scored 12 goals and given 15 assists in those matches.
