Jamie O’Hara has told talkSPORT that he is warming up to the idea of having Graham Potter as the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Tottenham midfielder, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, believes that Potter would be a good managerial appointment for Spurs.
According to The Daily Mail, Potter is among the managerial candidates to take charge of Tottenham at the end of the season.
The Brighton and Hove Albion manager is reportedly rated highly by the Spurs chiefs.
O’Hara said on talkSPORT (8:43am, May 6, 2021) last week that it would be “a bit of a fall from grace” if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy appoints Potter after bringing in a world-class manager such as Jose Mourinho.
The pundit told talkSPORT: “Before I thought we could go for Antonio Conte or Brendan Rodgers, but I think we need to be realistic. I think we’re pretending to be a big club but we’re not, we haven’t won anything.
“We need to go and find someone a bit like Pochettino when he came in and honestly, I’m warming to the idea, the more I watch Brighton play, of Graham Potter coming in.
“I think he’d be good for the club. His philosophy’s great, the way they create chances and the way they play.
“We’re going to have to sell Harry Kane as we have to raise some money to build a new team. The fans and everyone around Tottenham has had enough of this group of players.”
Potter has done well at Brighton, who play good football and are unlikely to get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The 45-year-old is a dynamic young manager who can be like another Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino did well at Southampton before he was appointed in the role at Spurs.
The Argentine grew as a manager at Spurs, and so did players such as Harry Kane and Eric Dier.
Leaving Brighton for Spurs would be a step-up for Potter, who would be tempted by the prospect of rebuilding Tottenham and making them challengers for the Premier League title again.
