Jamie O’Hara has admitted his ill-fated spell at Wolverhampton Wanderers quickly became a ‘nightmare’, speaking on the Jim White show on talkSPORT (14 February, 12.30pm),

Wolves looked to have pulled off a major coup when they signed the highly-rated midfielder from Tottenham Hotspur in 2011, paying £5 million to sign him on a permanent basis after an impressive loan spell at Molineux according to The Guardian.

But O’Hara struggled for form and fitness in the famous golden shirt, making just 41 league appearances for the club before being released three years after signing.

And, speaking to talkSPORT, O’Hara has admitted that he was far from happy with life in the Black Country with extended periods on the sidelines preventing the gifted playmaker from living up to his price tag.

“I remember when I went to Wolves, which ended up being a nightmare situation, I was on the most money I’d ever earned but was the least happiest I ever was,” O’Hara said.

“Money is not everything.”

You have to feel for O’Hara, who is without a club at the age of 32, having departed non-league outfit Billericay Town in December.

He was a midfielder blessed with real technical ability and if it hadn’t been for the series of injuries, he could have made that £5 million price tag look like a bargain.
