Jamie O’Hara has spoken out following his decision to quit new club Gillingham.

Controversy is something that has followed Jamie O’Hara round like a bad smell in the last few years, with the midfielder being slated for his attitude at Wolves as well as his behaviour since. However, in the most recent turn of events, the 30-year-old has shown himself in a new light. As reported by Get West London, O’Hara quit new club Gillingham as he did not want to receive money whilst he was injured.
The decision may seem odd to some as O’Hara was once on as much as £40,000 a week at Wolves, and now he has decided to quit Gillingham when he would simply be able to return once his injury is healed. Rumours are circulating that he may have received a better offer elsewhere, but whatever the case his revelation on Twitter was certainly an interesting one.
O’Hara was once tipped for great things back in his days at Tottenham, and despite a positive start to his life at Wolves things turned sour when he infamously clapped fans in a sarcastic manner following their relegation.
Stints at the likes at Fulham and Blackpool were equally as unsuccessful, and when he gets back to full fitness he will once again be searching for a club where he can try and salvage his diminishing reputation.
