Jamie O’Hara suggested on The Transfer Tavern show on talkSPORT (5:29pm, June 8, 2019) that Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson will not join Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, Tottenham are interested in signing Wilson from Premier League rivals Bournemouth this summer.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Spurs are hopeful of securing the services of the 27-year-old striker for £40 million.

Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara does not think that the England international striker will want to move to Spurs and be a back-up to star striker Harry Kane.

While stating that British players do not want to sit on the bench, O’Hara said on The Transfer Tavern show on talkSPORT (5:29pm, June 8, 2019): “They don’t want to sit on the bench, and that’s why I don’t think Callum Wilson will work if they bring him in.”

Tricky situation

Kane is one of the best strikers in Europe, and the England international will be the number one player upfront for Spurs.

Leaving Bournemouth for Tottenham will be a step-up for Wilson, but the 27-year-old will have to be satisfied with a place on the substitutes’ bench on most weeks, and perhaps that will sway the striker against a move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.
