Tottenham Hotspur were second best against Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Jamie O’Hara has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur need players like Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Alisson this summer after they lost the Champions League final on Saturday in Madrid.
The Reds ran out comfortable winners on the night, with Mo Salah converting from the penalty spot, Divock Origi netting a late goal and Van Dijk and Allison helping their team to a clean sheet.
The defeat was a heartbreaking one for Mauricio Pochettino’s side because they had come so far yet had fallen at the final hurdle against their Premier League counterparts.
Speaking to Sky Sports News (01/06/2019 10:10 pm), former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara suggested what the North London club need to do in the summer.
“£140m they [Liverpool] have spent,” O’Hara told Sky Sports News. “Alisson and Van Dijk. It showed [against Spurs]. Tottenham haven’t been able to show ambition in terms of buying players because they have built a new stadium, but now is the time. Can they back you?
“Pochettino needs backing. They are in the new stadium now. Arsenal did it and they tried to sign players, it didn’t work out for them. Recruitment is going to be key for Tottenham in the summer.
“They need to get in some real, big world class players in the summer. Leaders like Van Dijk, like Allison. They are not easy to find and they are expensive.”

Centre-back Van Dijk, who joined Liverpool during the January transfer window of 2018 for £75 million [BBC Sport], has played a huge part in Jurgen Klopp taking the team to the next level this season.
Added with that, Brazil international Allison, who joined the club last summer from Roma for £66 million [BBC Sport], has also provided calmness in between the sticks for the Merseyside club.
Tottenham haven’t signed any players during the previous two transfer windows and their supporters are hopeful the club will dip into the market and spend the priceless £141 million Liverpool spent on the above duo.
