Rangers winger Jamie Murphy has told The Herald that his January move to Ibrox has certainly lived up to expectations so far.

The Gers were busy in the January transfer market, making a host of signings to boost Graeme Murty’s squad, and one arrival was winger Murphy.

The 28-year-old had been a key part of the Brighton side following his 2015 move from Sheffield United, but found Premier League football hard to come by this season.

Rangers swooped to hand Murphy a loan move until the end of the season, and his deal is expected to become permanent this summer after an impressive start to life at Ibrox.

With three goals and three assists in 11 games, Murphy has thrived for Rangers, meaning his dream move to Ibrox has gone perfectly so far.

Jamie Murphy is seen during a training session prior to the International Friendly match between Scotland and Costa Rica at Orium Sports Centr on March 19, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The wide man grew up supporting Rangers, meaning he has fulfilled a boyhood dream by playing for the Gers, and he has even been handed a Scotland call-up off the back of his Rangers displays.

Now, Murphy has been asked about his time with Rangers, and has told The Herald that his dream move has certainly lived up to his expectations so far.

Murphy also believes he has even more to offer in the coming years, and has missed enjoying playing football having been on the fringes of the Brighton team this season.

“It has [lived up to my expectations],” said Murphy. “Obviously the last couple of games have been disappointing. But you miss that feeling of being out there in front of all the fans and enjoying yourself. It’s been great since I came back up.”

“Absolutely [my best years have still to come]. I am 28, but I am just as fit as I have ever been. I’ve been quite lucky with injuries so hopefully I can go on for as long as possible,” he added.
