Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have Graham Dorrans to thank for their opening-day win at Motherwell.
As far as dream debuts go, Graham Dorrans’s bow for Rangers couldn’t have gone much better.
The 29-year-old, a boyhood fan of the Ibrox club, began his Rangers career with a brace as Pedro Caixinha’s side beat Motherwell 2-1 in Fir Park on Sunday.

Okay, so a hat-trick might’ve topped what he achieved, but as a midfielder he will certainly settle for the two-goal haul and his Gers career looks very, very promising already.
That is the view of legendary Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield, who believes that the former West Brom man is destined to be a “hero” with the Glasgow club.
It’s a great start by Rangers but their fans won’t be getting carried away.
They still know that, Dorrans or not, challenging Celtic, who finished 39 points ahead of them last season, is a mammoth task.
Realistically, finishing second should be the aim for Caixinha’s side this season and, based on their nine pre-season signings, that is certainly an achieveable goal for the Gers.
