Everton-owned Matthew Pennington played well for Leeds United against Barnsley in the Championship at the weekend.

Pennington featured at right-back for Leeds in their Championship game against Barnsley at Elland Road at the weekend.
The 23-year-old is a central defender by trade, but the Everton-owned youngster did a good job at right-back in the Whites’ 2-1 win on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds assistant head coach Clapham was impressed with the performance of the former England Under-19 international, who joined the West Yorkshire outfit on a season-long deal from Premier League club Everton in the summer of 2017.

Clapham told Leeds Live: “He (Dallas) just had a tight hamstring, I’m not sure if it’s going to be a lengthy one or not, but it was good for Matty Pennington again.”
“He played out of position, played right-back and he did really well there, against McBurnie, who, obviously, everyone’s talking about at the moment.”

Future at Leeds United?
Much was expected of Pennington when he arrived at Leeds on loan from Everton in the summer of 2017, but things have not gone according to plan.
The 23-year-old defender has made 14 starts and made eight substitute appearances in the Championship for the Whites so far this season.
The performances of the 23-year-old have been mixed, and perhaps Leeds should look into the possibility to signing him for the 2018-19 campaign.
