Jamie Carragher has said that while Liverpool could have signed both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli a few years ago, that is no longer possible.

Jurgen Klopp was known to heap praise on the Arsenal duo, and many speculated that there was a chance that he views them as successors to Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

But as Arsenal are contending for the Premier League title while Liverpool may miss out on top four this season, Jamie Carragher has said that their hopes of signing Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli are virtually non-existent.

Carragher says Liverpool have no chance of signing Saka & Martinelli

During the initial years under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal had become a bit of a laughing stock amongst fans and pundits alike.

Back-to-back 8th place finishes, shock exits in the Europa League, a drab style of play and players severely underperforming meant it seemed the Reds could snap up the pair in a heartbeat as they were at the top with Manchester City.

As that is no longer the case as Arsenal have slotted in for Liverpool to compete with Pep Guardiola’s juggernaut, Jamie Carragher has ruled out their chances of bringing in Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

“Not so long ago, Klopp must have investigated if it was possible to lure the Arsenal duo to Merseyside. Suffice to say that ship has well and truly sailed”, Carragher wrote in his column for the Telegraph.

No chance either of the pair join Liverpool

Jamie Carragher is spot on; there is absolute no chance that either of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli push for a move to Liverpool.

The Reds are in a crisis and unless their incoming rebuild in the summer is one that propels them back to the top, their cycle under Jurgen Klopp may have come to an end.

As for Arsenal, they could build a dynasty for years to come.
