A Gabriel Jesus debut was the talking point before Arsenal’s visit to Crystal Palace – and the hitman hasn’t disappointed.
The Gunners kicked off their Premier League campaign with a difficult trip to Selhurst Park tonight.
And although there’s still 45 minutes away, Arsenal are looking comfortable – very comfortable.
It’s only 1-0 to the North Londoners but one reason for excitement ahead of the second half is Jesus.
The former Manchester City hitman has been unplayable at times during the opening 45 minutes, with Patrick Vieira’s side struggling with the Brazilian in a major way.
Within minutes of kickoff, Jesus demonstrated his excellent footwork and inadvertently set up a glorious opportunity for Gabriel Martinelli, who passed wide of the post.
Nevertheless, it’s been a brilliant competitive debut for the South American forward so far and Jamie Carragher hit the nail on the end, briefly describing him as ‘razor sharp’.
He said on Sky Sports: “Jesus is looking razor sharp.”
It’s important for Arsenal to convert any chances that may come their way after the break.
Despite looking comfortable, the Eagles have had a number of half-chances to equalise and those are big reminders that the Gunners need to be clinical when opportunities come.
