Christian Eriksen played his part as Tottenham Hotspur beat Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday.
Jamie Carragher has urged Tottenham to sort out Christian Eriksen’s contract ‘very quickly’ following his side’s 3-1 win over Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher labelled the 26-year-old playmaker as ‘one of the best players’ in the Premier League.
The Times claims that Eriksen’s contract situation with the north London outfit is at an impasse, with his current deal set to expire during the summer of 2020.
Eriksen’s long-range effort against the Foxes helped his side clinch a valuable three points as Carragher made it clear that Tottenham must keep hold of one of their star men.
“I mean this is one of the best players in the Premier League,” Carragher told Sky Sports PL on 10/02/2019. “At this moment, I don’t think he has signed a long-term contract. That needs to be sorted very quickly.
“I think the stats show that his last four goals have come from outside the box. He is just an absolutely wonderful player.”
In recent seasons gone by, Eriksen has provided that magic touch, ability to run a game and creativity in the middle of the park for his side.
As a result, he has played a major part in Pochettino guiding the club to numerous top-four finishes and healthy performances in domestic competitions and in Europe.
Over the course of this campaign, the Denmark international has played 32 games in all competitions for his side, scoring seven goals from midfield and supplying his teammates with 11 assists.
Eriksen has showcased the ability to play all across the midfield, whether it be playing in a more advanced role, deeper role or being pushed out wide by his manager.
