Liverpool suffered a humiliating defeat on Sunday night as they were beaten 7-2 away at Aston Villa.
The Reds travelled to Villa Park with many expecting them to grab all three points, but it turned into a complete nightmare for Jurgen Klop’s side.
Adrian gifted Ollie Watkins the opening goal with a dismal pass, and it only got worse as Watkins, Jack Grealish and Ross Barkley ran riot.
Liverpool were a shambles defensively, with Grealish tormenting Trent Alexander-Arnold throughout whilst Watkins terrorised Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk.
Some may point to the absences of Sadio Mane and Alisson, but that’s no real explanation for conceding seven goals against Villa.
After the opening goal, Jamie Carragher blasted goalkeeper Alisson, suggesting that he is simply ‘not good enough’ to be backup behind Alisson.

The Spaniard, signed on a free transfer from West Ham United in 2019, struggled throughout last night’s game, with Carragher criticising his ‘really poor’ distribution on his left foot.
Carragher (Sky Sports, 04/10, 7:20pm) called on Liverpool to find a ‘better backup’ than Adrian, though it’s unclear whether Liverpool will actually make a move for a new stopper.
“I said before the game, with the amount of injuries at the moment that Alisson’s getting, Adrian’s not good enough as a backup – and he showed it again there,” said Carragher. “It’s really poor on his weak foot, so simple for Aston Villa. It’s always a big worry when your backup goalkeeper comes in, and at this moment, it looks like Liverpool need a better backup goalkeeper,” he added.
