Everton and Liverpool will face each other in the Merseyside derby this weekend.

Everton will take on Liverpool away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
Former Manchester United forward Rooney is set to feature for the Toffees, and Liverpool legend Carragher believes that the 32-year-old, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, will be important.

Carragher wrote in The Telegraph: “As Everton prepare to go to Anfield twice in a month, they go armed with one weapon I feel they have lacked for much of the period of Liverpool superiority. A player who will feel the emotions expressed above: Wayne Rooney.
“Everton have other younger local players, but none with Rooney’s experience and winning mentality. No-one will be more affected by this game. He will be like a man possessed this week. Those sitting near him will sense it.”

Rooney knows what the Merseyside derby is all about, and Everton can expect the former England international to turn on the style against Liverpool.
Although the former United star has not played well since his summer move, the 32-year-old does have the capability to step up in big matches.
Liverpool have a much better team than Everton do and will head into Sunday’s match as favourites, but the Toffees can pick up a win at Anfield.
One should not be surprised if Rooney pops up with a late winner or a late equaliser…
