Tottenham Hotspur, at the moment, are in the Premier League title race.
Jamie Carragher has told ESPN that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to challenge for the Premier League title again this season.
Tottenham flashed their title credentials with an excellent 2-0 win over Manchester City at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The victory lifted Spurs up to second, one point behind City, and ended Pep Guardiola’s 100% record after his first six games in the Premier League.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side mounted a very strong challenge last term which ended in the final few games of the season, helping Leicester City win the title.
England’s elite clubs were expected to bounce back after a sub-par showing last season, with the likes of Chelsea, City and Manchester United all hiring new managers.
But their improvement does not look like coming at the expense of Tottenham, and Carragher expects the Lilywhites to maintain their stellar form for much of the season.
“I think on the back of last season, going very close to the title, maybe people thought Spurs would drop off this season, but no they look like they’ll be right up there again, challenging for the title,” he told ESPN.
Tottenham are the only side in the Premier League who are still unbeaten, having won five and drawn two of their first seven games. Impressively, some of those wins also came without Harry Kane in the team due to injury.
