Everton beat Wolves 3-2 on Sunday afternoon, with Alex Iwobi on the scoresheet.

Pundit Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports (01/09, 2:06pm) that he thinks Bernard may now struggle to get back in the side due to Alex Iwobi’s arrival.
Everton played out a topsy-turvy game with Wolves on Sunday afternoon, first taking the lead through Richarlison before Romain Saiss equalised.
Everton quickly went back in front as Iwob headed home Gylfi Sigurdsson’s cross, but Wolves hit back again through Raul Jimenez, seemingly securing a point for the visitors.
However, Richarlison struck again to clinch a 3-2 win for Everton, continuing the fine recent home form under Marco Silva.
Toffees fans got the win they wanted and also a first glimpse of new signing Iwobi at Goodison Park, and he certainly impressed even outside of his goal.
Silva picked Iwobi on the left flank, bringing him into the side in place of Bernard, and having taken his chance, it’s hard to see how the Brazilian gets back in.
Pundit Carragher has noted that Bernard is a fan’s favourite, but feels he lacks the power and strength to hurt defenders – but thinks Iwobi has those abilities in abundance, and the glimpses show exactly why he’s been signed.

“Bernard is a bit of a fan’s favourite, but I do think he lacks that power and strength to really hurt defenders,” said Carragher. “I think Iwobi has got that in abundance, we’ve seen glimpses of it already,” he added.
Bernard is diminutive at 5ft 5in, and whilst he isn’t as athletically gifted as Iwobi, he’s technically brilliant and a hard worker, meaning there’s certainly a role for him under Silva.
It may well be that big-money new boy Iwobi takes over on the left, but Bernard can play on either flank or even as a number 10, meaning he should still feature prominently this season whilst offering something different to Iwobi.
