Jamie Carragher has defended his decision to include Tottenham Hotspur forward Son Heung-min instead of Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in his Premier League Team of the Season on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports Premier League.

The Liverpool star, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, named Tottenham forward Son ahead of Liverpool star Salah in his team.

That has not gone down well among some Liverpool fans, and Carragher has responded to one of them on Twitter, as shown below.

Salah has not always looked at his best this season, but there can be no denying that he has scored a lot of goals.

In fact, the Egypt international forward could win the Premier League Golden Boot this season.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has scored 21 goals and provided 13 assists in the Premier League this season, while Salah has found the back of the net 20 times and has given four assists.

Spurs forward Son has not been at his best in recent weeks, but the South Korea international has 17 goals and 10 assists in the league this season.

It is not an easy choice between Salah and Son.

As Carragher points out, Son has scored just one goal from the penalty spot, while Salah has scored on six occasions.

Moreover, Son has given more assists than Salah, but you could argue that the Liverpool forward has done more for his team by scoring in a season where Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have struggled.
