Marco Silva’s Everton side could offer Marcus Rashford regularly first-team football at Goodison Park.
Rashford scored the Three Lions goal with an excellent finish, to help them to a 1-0 win over Switzerland yesterday.
And Carragher believes that Rashford now needs to go and get more first-team football than he is at Manchester United, by moving to a team like Everton.
“You look at Lukaku, I don’t see Rashford displacing him,” Carragher said. “You remember Lukaku was at Chelsea, he had to come away, and he ended up at Everton.
“Everton is the sort of club you look at for Rashford. They’re just below the top six, you know you’re going to play every week and you know that you’re going to stay in the team if you have a couple of poor games.”
Rashford, who is on a £55,000-a-week contract (Daily Mirror), has found it difficult to break into United’s team as an out and out forward over the past two seasons, and a move to Everton would certainly raise eye brows.
Marco Silva’s side were actually tentatively linked with the youngster during the summer transfer window, but no move materialised.
If Everton were to try and buy Rashford he would likely command a huge fee, but the Toffees do have money to spend.
Everton have backed Silva with big funds in the transfer window so far, and the addition of Rashford would be another sign of intent.
