Pundit Jamie Carragher has taken to Twitter in order to praise Liverpool ace Fabinho after his performance at centre back against Ajax.
The Reds travelled to Amsterdam on Wednesday evening for their first Champions League group stage game of the season, and managed to come away with all three points.
Nicolas Tagliafico’s own goal handed Liverpool the win, and Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with the victory and a clean sheet after a testing few days.
Reds star Virgil van Dijk picked up an anterior cruciate ligament injury against Everton on Saturday, meaning he will now likely miss the rest of the season.
With Joel Matip also out and Dejan Lovren not replaced over the summer, Fabinho was pressed into being a makeshift centre back against Ajax, and he fared well.

Pundit Jamie Carragher took to Twitter to praise Liverpool’s back four, but ‘especially’ Fabinho as he stepped into Van Dijk’s huge shoes to help Liverpool keep a clean sheet.
Carragher also praised Liverpool’s three attacking substitutions, as Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino and Xherdan Shaqiri came on to make an impact in the final half an hour in place of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
