Chelsea were reportedly interested in signing Romelu Lukaku from Everton in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has suggested in The Daily Mail that Everton should have sold Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea were interested in signing Lukaku from Everton, according to The London Evening Standard.
It was reported that the Toffees valued the Belgium international striker at £75 million, and that Chelsea were willing to include forward Loic Remy and £60m as cash for the 23-year-old.

Ex-Liverpool defender Carragher believes that Everton should have sold Lukaku back to his former club Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
“He scores goals, certainly,” Carragher wrote in The Daily Mail. “He has enjoyed two fine seasons but when there was speculation about him re-joining Chelsea in the summer, if I was in a position of power at Everton I would have snapped their hand off had an offer of £60million arrived.”
Lukaku is a very good striker and has the potential to be world class, but is he worth £60m?
Probably not, but then again, if Chelsea were willing to pay Everton £60m for the Belgian, than that would be his value.

Selling the 23-year-old in the summer would have created a major problem for the Toffees, though.
The Merseyside outfit would have then had to sign a suitable replacement, and there were not too many world-class players available at the time.
Lukaku has scored seven goals and created 21 chances in 12 Premier League appearances for Everton so far this season.
