Jurgen Klopp isn’t leaving Liverpool any time soon, but some already think they know who will end up replacing him.

The Reds have been outstanding since Klopp’s arrival back in 2015, becoming Premier League, European and World champions under his stewardship.

Klopp has a contract until 2024, meaning Liverpool likely don’t have to be thinking about a replacement for a few years yet.

Still, Steven Gerrard is being suggested by many as the next Liverpool manager, having been a Reds legend during his playing days.

Gerrard is now managing Rangers, and looks to be closing in on the Scottish Premiership title having moved 19 points clear at the top of the table.

Gerrard has yet to win a trophy at Rangers, but his side have been outstanding this season, and he has also picked up superb results in Europe.

Now though, pundit and Gerrard’s former teammate Jamie Carragher has told Monday Night Football (Sky Sports, 04/01, 7:35pm) that he probably wouldn’t want Gerrard to become Liverpool boss without more experience.

Carragher compared the situation to that of Frank Lampard at Chelsea, believing that Gerrard may need an intermediate move between Rangers and Liverpool in order to deal with tough times in the future.

“Steven Gerrard’s gone to Rangers and is doing really well, but would I want Gerrard to be the Liverpool manager without more experience? Possibly not,” said Carragher. “I just think when you get those really big jobs without the experience, you’ve got nothing to fall back on when times are tough, as they will be for Frank right now,” he added.
