Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged the club to come up with two new signings before the transfer deadline.
Jamie Carragher wants to see Liverpool bring in a left-sided centre back and a new midfielder in the final days of the transfer window.
Carragher has been speaking after a quite bonkers afternoon watching Liverpool beat Newcastle United 2-1.
Trent Alexander-Arnold was lucky to avoid a red card before gifting Anthony Gordon the opening goal of the game.
Virgil van Dijk was sent off just moments later and it looked like Liverpool were dead and buried.
Darwin Nunez make a stunning impact off the bench though, firing Liverpool level with a brilliant finish before winning it in injury time.
Everybody connected to Liverpool is in an incredible mood but the transfer deadline is nearing – and Carragher wants business to be done.
Carragher has taken to Twitter to send a message pleading with the Reds to sign another midfielder and a left-sided centre back.
‘LCB & midfielder this week please’ tweeted Carragher, tagging Liverpool in the post in the hope of influencing the Reds’ business.
Another midfielder almost seems like a given but another defender maybe hasn’t been seen as a top priority in recent days.

Who could Liverpool sign after Jamie Carragher plea?
Two left-footed centre backs were linked earlier in the summer in Levi Colwill and Micky van de Ven.
Colwill stayed with Chelsea though, whilst Van de Ven completed a move from Wolfsburg to Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool links to Van de Ven seemingly made sense given that Jorg Schmadtke – the man who brought him to Wolfsburg – is leading Liverpool’s transfer business.
Van de Ven joined Tottenham though and has already made a positive impact in their back line.
Top left-footed defenders are hard to come by now though as all managers seem to want one.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie has been loosely linked, as has Goncalo Inacio but it seems unlikely that he will leave Sporting now.

Feyenoord ace David Hancko was superb in their title-winning campaign last season and may be more an under-the-radar, Liverpool type of signing.
Rennes ace Arthur Theate is an impressive defender too whilst Wolves defender Max Kilman has been linked in the past.
As for the midfield, Liverpool famously missed out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia before turning to experienced Japan international Wataru Endo.
A younger option would be ideal now and links to Fiorentina battler Sofyan Amrabat certainly make sense.
Cheick Doucoure is a player Liverpool like but Crystal Palace selling him before the deadline seems very unlikely.
Ibrahim Sangare could be a real option for Liverpool and their budget, especially if PSV lose their Champions League play-off to Rangers this week.
Khephren Thuram, Florentino Luis, Joao Palhinha and Youssouf Fofana will also be names to watch as Liverpool explore the market for another midfielder without breaking the bank.
