Speaking on the Sky Sports Football Podcast, Jamie Carragher has been speaking about Diogo Jota and Liverpool’s front three.

Liverpool’s legendary front three are all ageing, Roberto Firmino is 30, while Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are both 29. Sadly, before we know it, these players will be entering the twilight years of their careers.

Having an ageing squad is an issue for any team, and Carragher has stated that he’d like to see Liverpool bring in some fresh faces to revitalise their attack.

Carragher highlighted Jota as the type of player the Reds should look at, claiming that the 24-year-old has made a big impact since arriving at Anfield.

What’s been said?

Carragher was speaking about a potential shake-up in Liverpool’s attack.

“That’s the area that in the summer, not necessarily to break it up, because they’ve started the season fantastically well. Jota has come in and made a big impact, but I’d like to see one more,” Carragher said.

Great signing

A few years ago it would have been unimaginable that any player would have been able to break into Liverpool’s attack, but Jota has somehow managed it.

The former Wolves man hit the ground running when he arrived at Anfield last season and he really hasn’t looked back since.

Whether he’s playing on the wing or up front the 24-year-old has been fantastic, and Liverpool could certainly do with making another signing like Jota this summer.
