Jamie Carragher has suggested that he still hasn’t been fully convinced by Everton central defender Yerry Mina, in an interview with Toffee TV.
Mina has played fairly regularly for Everton this term, with the Colombian an important player for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
However, Carragher feels that Mina won’t actually be part of Everton’s long-term pairing at the back.
And the Liverpool legend believes that Ben Godfrey and Michael Keane will eventually nail down the positions.
“I think he [Godfrey] is going to be a top centre-back and I think in Keane and Godfrey it’s a good partnership,” he said.
“Yerry Mina I think he’s done well for Everton, but I’m yet to be massively convinced really.
“I do look at Keane and Godfrey as the future at centre-back.”
Godfrey has currently been rotated around the side, with the youngster learning his trade by playing right across the back-line.
Everton actually may be looking for a new central defender in the summer, which could see Mina demoted down the pecking order.
TalkSPORT suggest that Everton are keen on Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli, and if he was to sign he would surely go straight into their starting line-up.
