Tottenham Hotspur are currently one place behind Arsenal in the Premier League table.
Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports’ programme Super Sunday, which was broadcast on 1st January, that the way Tottenham Hotspur’s and Arsenal’s seasons have been reflected on so far highlights the difference between the two sides.
Spurs have largely been praised for their first half of the campaign – with Mauricio Pochettino’s side currently in fourth place.
However, Arsenal have faced criticism, even though they are currently two points ahead of their capital rivals in the Premier League table.
And Carragher said: “We’re criticising Arsenal earlier on, and now we’re saying how well Spurs are doing. Arsenal are above them. It may upset Spurs supporters, but it’s because we see Arsenal as the bigger club who should be going for the title.
“With Spurs, if they get top four, you see it as a good season. That’s the difference between the two clubs.”
Arsenal and Spurs are currently attempting to keep pace with league leaders Chelsea, who have won their last 13 matches in succession.
The Gunners were victorious in their last fixture, which came against Crystal Palace yesterday.
Arsenal beat Sam Allardyce’s new side 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium, after goals from Olivier Giroud and Alex Iwobi.
Tottenham were also celebrating victory yesterday, with Pochettino’s men picking up a 4-1 win at Vicarage Road.
Both Dele Alli and Harry Kane struck braces, as Spurs moved above Manchester City in the top flight table.
