Jamie Carragher responds on Twitter to Graham Roberts criticism over Tottenham’s Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur legend backs club striker.

Tottenham legend Graham Roberts took issue with SkySports punditry team’s assessment of Harry Kane on Monday Night Football.

Thierry Henry claimed Sergio Aguero is the only Premier League striker who can be considered world class, dismissing Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata as yet unproven.

Henry was backed up by Jamie Carragher, who said: “People define world class differently. I think you’ve got to do it in the Champions League or a major tournament, you can’t just do it domestically.”

Roberts called out Carragher on Twitter, who responded.

Roberts went on to tweet at Thierry Henry, but did not receive a response.

In further reply to Carragher, Roberts argued that Kane proved his class in the Champions League earlier this month with two goals against Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

Kane will have to wait until the latter stages of the Champions League to really prove his doubters wrong, and the World Cup this summer.

But as those dates won’t get here any time soon, Kane should be cut some slack and praised for the outstanding 24-year-olf forward he is, without a rush to categorise him one way or another.
