Leeds United added their fourth summer signing this morning.

The Whites confirmed that they had signed 18-year-old Sean McGurk from Wigan Athletic.

McGurk is the second teenager to join Leeds in recent weeks after the Elland Road club also wrapped up a deal to bring Amari Miller to Thorp Arch.

The duo will compete in United’s Under-23 side for the time being, with Jack Harrison – who’s been on loan since 2018 – and Junior Firpo joining the club on a permanent basis.

Jamie Carragher is aware of McGurk due to the fact that his son James was teammate of the Leeds new boy back at Wigan.

Here’s how the Sky Sports pundit reacted to the news on Twitter:

No let-up

A lot of Leeds fans were happy to see McGurk come aboard, but many more will want senior additions made soon.

Yes, Marcelo Bielsa’s side had a stunning 2020-21 campaign, culminating in a ninth-placed finish on their return to the Premier League.

But now is not the time to rest on laurels.

Leeds have already proven their intent by signing Junior Firpo from Barcelona but, in order to keep making progress, more is needed.
